NPF Wokha Division undertakes first Assembly Constituency tour

The Naga People’s Front (NPF) Wokha division conducted its first Assembly Constituency tour covering 37 Tuyi and 38 Wokha Assembly Constituencies at the Wokha District VDBs Hall on March 24.

The morning session was held for 37 Tuyi AC, where division party workers and central leaders interacted with constituency members.

Yanchi K Khuvung, president of NPF Wokha Women Division, extended greetings and stressed the importance of unity among party workers. She urged members not to be discouraged by the absence of elected representatives from their constituencies but to remain motivated and work collectively for the progress of the party. She also called for strengthening women’s wings across all constituencies in Wokha district.

Ekonlumi, vice president of the central women’s wing, conveyed greetings on behalf of the central women’s organization. She underscored the values of seniority and loyalty in party functioning and emphasized adherence to party protocol for smooth operations.

Chobhathung Odyuo, CEC member, recounted the history of the NPF’s formation under Kevichusa, describing it as an “anointed party” guided by faith. He appealed to leaders to show love and concern towards party workers.

Tsumongo Ovung, senior vice president, expressed concern over the need to initiate more activities to foster unity and progress within the party.

John Ezung, vice president COB, said that the motive behind the formation of a unified NPF was to strengthen the collective voice in expediting the Naga political solution and integration.

Achamo Kikon, vice president, and Lawrence Ovung, general secretary of the central youth wing, also addressed the gathering during the tour programme.

The afternoon session covered the 38 Wokha Assembly Constituency. NPF Wokha Division president, Meribemo Kinghen, described 38 AC as the backbone of the district, stressing that it must remain strong and active. He expressed confidence that the party will continue to perform well in the coming elections and urged party workers to stay committed and give their best to further strengthen the party.

Vice president of the central women’s wing, Grace Murry, emphasized the need to work for the welfare of the people rather than personal gain. She noted that the party continues to enjoy the support and trust of the people, and encouraged members to remain dedicated to public service.

Janbemo Humtsoe, a member of the Social Media Cell (COB), called for unity and trust among party workers. He encouraged members to maintain good relationships within the party and emphasized the importance of honesty, urging them not to make false promises but to uphold the party’s values.

Zuthungbeni Humtsoe spoke on the role of youth in the party, highlighting their potential to drive change. She encouraged young members to make use of digital platforms to explore opportunities and contribute to the party’s growth.

Elansao Kikon, general secretary of the Farmers’ Wing (Central), highlighted the welfare of farmers and spoke about building stronger relationships between farmers and the party.

President of 38 AC, Yanphamo Tungoe, delivered the welcome address and presented the report. Secretary COB, Ezanbemo Erui, and senior vice president COB, Tsumongo Ovung, also spoke during the programme. The vote of thanks was delivered by youth president of 38 AC, N Rhonthungo Kithan, while the programme was chaired by general secretary of 38 AC, Thungchibemo Humtsoe.

Party leaders attending the programme spoke on key issues, focusing on strengthening the party at the grassroots and working towards its growth. The central and division party workers will continue the second tour programme at 39 Sanis and 40 Bhandari Assembly Constituencies on March 25.
