The Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services, Phek successfully conducted training on Livestock Insurance Scheme for the Para-veterinarian and farmers under NLM scheme 2026-26 on April 13 at the office of the Chief Veterinary Office, Phek.

Dr E Mhonlumi Lotha, CVO, Phek highlighted the scope and importance of the insurance while addressing the current situation of livestock, which are at much greater risk from various diseases. In the technical session, Dr Metshepe Lasuh , Veterinary Assistant Surgeon, VAS , Phek, delivered an in-depth session on the objective, claim procedures, animal coverage and rates under the livestock insurance scheme.
