The Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA) has informed that weather conditions across the state are expected to remain unstable during the period from April 21 to 24, with widespread thunderstorms, lightning, gusty winds, and intermittent rainfall likely to affect several districts.

According to NSDMA, localized thunderstorms and lightning are expected across most districts during the forecast period. Light to moderate rainfall is likely at scattered locations across the state. Partly cloudy to overcast conditions will prevail intermittently.

Longleng, Mokokchung, and Mon districts are likely to experience moderate to heavy rainfall, particularly on April 21. Mon district may witness heavy rainfall at most places.

Thunderstorms with lightning are also likely to affect most parts of the state, including Dimapur, Kohima, Peren, Wokha, Tuensang, Zunheboto and Tseminyu during the forecast period.

NSDMA cautioned that gusty winds accompanying thunderstorms may pose risks to loose structures, trees, and power lines. Meanwhile, Kiphire and Meluri are expected to witness relatively less severe conditions during most of the period.
