DC Kohima issues traffic advisory ahead of rally

Deputy Commissioner of Kohima, B Henok Buchem, NCS, has issued a traffic advisory in view of a rally organized by the Tribal Women Bodies of Kohima on June 19, 2026, concerning the ongoing IDAN sexual harassment case.

According to the advisory, the gathering would take place at Old MLA Hostel (Phoolbari) Junction from 10 a.m.  to 12:00 noon, followed by a procession to Lok Bhavan. The district administration has cautioned that significant traffic congestion and diversions are expected across Kohima town during the event.

The public has been advised to avoid non-essential travel within the town during the specified period. Commuters who must travel are urged to avoid the procession route leading to Lok Bhavan and use alternate roads wherever possible.

The Deputy Commissioner appealed to citizens to cooperate with the district authorities to ensure public safety and smooth traffic management.
