The apex tribal bodies of the Sümi and Pochury communities, the Sümi Hoho and the Pochury Hoho, reaffirmed their age-old bond of friendship and mutual respect during a joint meeting held at the Pochury Hoho Office in Meluri Town on Tuesday.

The meeting, held as part of a goodwill visit by the Sümi Hoho to the Pochury Hoho, brought together leaders of both organisations to deliberate on issues of mutual interest and further strengthen the historic relationship between the two neighbouring communities.

During the meeting, both Hohos underscored the importance of preserving peace, fostering mutual understanding, and addressing common concerns through dialogue and cooperation. The leaders reiterated their shared commitment to promoting unity, peaceful coexistence, and the collective welfare of both communities.

A major outcome of the meeting was the adoption of a joint resolution in which the two apex bodies unanimously affirmed that the Sümi and Pochury tribes have lived together in peace, harmony, and mutual respect since time immemorial. 3
