he Sakhi One Stop Centre (OSC), Wokha, with support from the Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao (BBBP) initiative, on July 16 concluded a 10-day specialised training programme for its security personnel at the OSC premises, District Hospital, Wokha.
The training focused on equipping security guards with the knowledge and practical skills required to respond effectively to sensitive situations involving survivors of violence while coordinating with police, legal and emergency services.
Addressing the valedictory programme as the special guest, Deputy Commissioner of Wokha and Chairperson of Mission Shakti, K Mhathung Tsanglao, said the initiative marked an important step towards enhancing the quality of services provided by the One Stop Centre. He noted that the centre frequently deals with sensitive cases requiring close collaboration with law enforcement and legal authorities, and stressed that well-trained security personnel are essential in ensuring the safety, dignity and well-being of women seeking support.
Superintendent of Police, Wokha, T Relo Aye, appreciated the efforts of the Sakhi One Stop Centre and commended the team for maintaining a clean, organised and welcoming environment. He observed that a well-kept office and shelter not only provide women with a sense of security and comfort during difficult circumstances but also contribute positively to their emotional well-being.
Also speaking at the programme, DPO/DNO and Member Secretary of Mission Shakti and Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP), Bonathung Ngullie, described the training as a timely and necessary initiative. He urged the participants to discharge their responsibilities with commitment, professionalism and compassion.

On behalf of the participants, the trainees thanked the organisers and resource persons for the valuable learning experience. They said the programme strengthened their understanding of emergency response, situational awareness and crisis management, and expressed confidence that the skills acquired would help them perform their duties more effectively.
Over the course of the 10-day programme, participants received training in situational awareness, access control, de-escalation techniques, basic self-defence and rescue, crisis management, gender sensitivity, legal awareness, evacuation procedures, and coordination with police and emergency services. Certificates were presented to the trainees during the closing ceremony.
The programme was chaired by Case Worker Chonbeni R Ezung, while Centre Administrator Thungbeni Kikon delivered the welcome address. The programme concluded with closing remarks by Legal Case Worker Nzammongi Odyuo.
