The Nagaland Contractors’ & Suppliers Union (NCSU) called on Swarai Meru, Engineer-in-Chief (E-in-C), Nagaland Public Works Department (NPWD), at the PWD Office, Kohima, on August 19, 2026, following his assumption of charge as the Engineer-in-Chief of NPWD.
The NCSU delegation was led by its President, Pele Khezhie, and General Secretary, John Kath. The team extended its warm greetings and congratulations to Swarai Meru on taking charge of the office and conveyed its best wishes for a successful and productive tenure.
During the meeting, the Union discussed matters concerning contractors and suppliers in the state and emphasized the importance of continued coordination, communication and cooperation between NPWD and the contracting community.
The NCSU expressed hope that under his leadership, the Department would further strengthen its engagement with contractors and suppliers and create a conducive environment for the smooth and timely execution of public works across Nagaland.

The Union also assured the Engineer-in-Chief of its full cooperation and support in the discharge of his responsibilities and expressed its readiness to work closely with the Department in the larger interest of infrastructure development and the people of Nagaland.
The meeting was held in a cordial and constructive atmosphere, with both sides emphasizing the importance of mutual understanding and continued engagement for the effective implementation of public works in the state.
