MY Bharat–Kiphire, under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India and Akehda Amulung Kiphire organised the District Level Competitions under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan 2026 (Drug-Free Campaign) at Agape Higher Secondary School, Kiphire, on August 22.
The programme was attended by Special Guest Col Rajiv Sharma, Commandant, 30 Assam Rifles. The programme began with leadership by Tronglise Sangtam of Akheda Amulung, followed by the welcome note by Kishore Dulam, District Youth Officer, MY Bharat–Kiphire.
In his welcome address, Kishore Dulam highlighted the importance of building a drug-free society. He said that a drug-free environment is a priority and expressed concern over the availability of drugs at low prices in interior areas, which can also contribute to other social problems, including extortion.
Speaking as the Special Guest, Col Rajiv Sharma encouraged the youth to say no to drugs under all circumstances. He called upon everyone to support and help people struggling with addiction. He said that overcoming addiction requires a strong and determined mind, and encouraged individuals to challenge themselves and take positive action towards a drug-free life.
Major Shikha Satsangi (Retired) also addressed the gathering and conducted a career guidance session. She spoke about opportunities for women in the Armed Forces and explained the examination and training process. Sharing from her own experience in the Armed Forces, she encouraged parents to support their daughters who wish to pursue a career in the Armed Forces and not to be afraid of sending their girl children for such opportunities.

The District Level Competitions included Reel Making and Short Film, Painting, Dance, Music and Rap, Slam Poetry, Nukkad Natak (Street Play), Slogan Writing and Debate. The competitions provided young participants with a platform to express their creativity and spread the message of a drug-free society.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Longtili C Sangtam, Founder of Akheda Amulung. He expressed gratitude to the Special Guest and his wife, Shri Kishore Dulam, District Youth Officer, MY Bharat–Kiphire, Agape Higher Secondary School, judges, participants, teachers, volunteers and students for their support in making the programme successful.
The event ended with a strong message that every individual has a role to play in creating a drug-free society. The programme aimed to inspire young people to make positive choices, stand against drug abuse and encourage others to overcome addiction.
