The Chumoukedima District Administration along with District-level officers from various line departments participated in a state-level Video Conference review meeting on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the nationwide “Reform Utsav 2026” campaign on September 15 at DC’s Conference Hall, Chumoukedima.

Principal Secretary & Development Commissioner, Nagaland, Y Kikheto Sema, IAS, gave a detailed presentation on SDG performance across the districts. He stated that the SDGs consisted of 16 goals and 84 targets and stressed that all development activities should be undertaken keeping the relevant goals and targets in view. He also called for timely reporting and updating of progress on the respective Ministry and Department portals.

He urged the Deputy Commissioners to identify infrastructure gaps and other areas requiring attention in their districts, including government buildings in poor condition.

He also highlighted the three Aspirational Blocks in Nagaland—Akuhaito, Khongsa and Thonoknyu, and urged focused development of these areas in line with the SDG goals and targets. He informed that he would visit all districts to inspect ongoing projects and developmental activities.

A PowerPoint presentation on Reform Utsav 2026 was delivered by Kumar Ramnikant, IAS, Secretary, Industries & Commerce.

Addressing the officials present at the meeting, DC Chumoukedima, Polan John, NCS, emphasised that SDG implementation required a collective effort involving multiple departments. He stressed the need for factual data, proper reporting and timely uploading of information so that the district’s performance was accurately reflected on the respective portals.

He also called for greater focus on parameters where the district was lagging behind and to work towards achieving the SDG targets.
