The essential repair of the road from the Civil Secretariat towards the Directorate of Health & Family Welfare and the Home Guards Department was completed on 28 January.
An update from DIPR stated that the much-awaited road restoration had been a great hurdle for a number of years, particularly during the monsoon seasons, and the poor road conditions had caused problems to employees and travelers for all the adjacent offices.
As it was a prerequisite for the smooth operation of office work, Dr Temjentsungla, Principal Director DH&FW, prioritised and initiated the road repair, informed DIPR.
Dr Temjentsungla expressed hope that the newly repaired road would aid in better functioning of office work for the employees, visitors and all travelers in all the offices.
The Principal Director also extended gratitude to all the departments who had rendered help in cash and kind for the road repair.
She conveyed her acknowledgment and gratitude to the departments of Home Guard, DIPR, Horticulture, Statistics & Economics, Transport, Land Resources, Science & Technology, Water Resources, and officers and staff of the Directorate of Health & Family Welfare for all the help rendered.
