Stating that election is a festival of democracy, Bhanudas Mali, IAS, Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer, Zunheboto urged the people to celebrate the election peacefully without any violence.
Speaking during the one-day seminar on Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) on clean election on 16 February in Zunheboto, he acknowledged the various organisations and villages who pledged a clean and fair election and for giving support to the administration and the Election Commission of India, a DIPR report stated.
He also warned that on the day of the election, no private vehicles will be allowed to ply from one place to another without proper authorisation from the administration so as to prevent proxy voting, double voting and to prevent any forms of illegal means to disturb the election process.
The DC also applauded the people of Zunheboto for not having any kind of election violence to date.
Meanwhile, Linovi Kiba, the 1st runner-up of Miss Sumi 2022, who is also the SVEEP icon Zunheboto, exhorted that people have the power to rightfully choose the right leaders for a better tomorrow, it stated.
Electoral participation is the most essential for our community’s growth and if we dutifully carry it out, our society will witness a revival and we will be able to navigate our future towards a brighter end, she stated.
She further added that the constitution has provided the most important power, which is the right to vote.
