The Government of Nagaland has convened a consultative meeting with tribal bodies on 9 May 2023 to discuss on the Oil and Gas Exploration and Production, Register of Indigenous Inhabitants of Nagaland (RIIN) and The Nagaland Village and Tribal Councils Act, 1978. In the meeting, there will also be a briefing on matters in regard to Urban Local Bodies (ULBs).

The meeting will be held at 11:00 am in the State Banquet Hall, Chief Minister’s Residential Complex, Kohima and will be attended by the Chief Minister, the Deputy Chief Ministers, the Speaker, NLA, all the Ministers, Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha, Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha, all the Advisors, all the MLAs, Chief Secretary, along with other senior officials of the State Government.

The representatives of the following tribal and civil bodies have been invited to the meeting:

1. The President, Central Nagaland Tribes Council, and three representatives
2. The President, Eastern Nagaland Peoples’ Organization, and three representatives.
3. The President, Tenyimi Peoples’ Organization, and three representatives.
4. The President, Angami Public Organization, Kohima along with three representatives, and the President, Angamimiapfu Mechü Krotho along with two representatives.
5. The President, Ao Senden, Mokokchung, along with three representatives, and the President, Watsü Mundang along with two representatives.
6. The President, Chakhesang Public Organization, Phek along with three representatives, and the President, Chakhesang Women Organisation along with two representatives.
7. The President, Chang Khulei Setsang, Tuensang along with three representatives, and the President, Changsao Thangjam Setshang along with two representatives.
8. The President, Nagaland Garo Tribal Council, Dimapur along with three representatives, and the President, Nagaland Garo Mother’s Association along with two representatives.
