Minister for Public Health Engineering, Cooperation Jacob Zhimomi emphasized on the need to take a collective decision on ENPO’s proposal to include Eastern Sumis in the Frontier Naga Territory. He was affirmative that there will be no issues which will disintegrate the Eastern Sumis from Eastern Nagaland People’s Organization and that there is no question of segregation and withdrawing the district boundaries.
The Minister said this while speaking to reporters on the sideline of a program at Capital Convention Centre, Kohima on Saturday.

He also added that, there is no animosity amongst the tribes and will continue to coexist peacefully like they have been coexisting in the past.
“We have discussed the issue and this are issues which will be taken collectively but however I think there should not be any issues which will disintegrate the Eastern Sumis from the ENPO. They have been living together in the past there is no animosity amongst the tribes. There is no issue them being segregated and withdrawing the district boundaries, that will not happen. The Eastern Sumis will live peacefully like they have been living in the past,” said Zhimomi.
Zhimomi who was also a part of the Rio delegation to meet Union Home Minister to discuss on the pressing issues related to the Uniform Civil Code and the demand of the Eastern Nagaland People’s Organization (ENPO) for the Frontier Naga Territory said that with regard to FNT preparations were underway, and the state government will inform the public when ready. However, he refrained from providing further comments on the matter.
In response to query about the June 30 consultative meeting which was postponed, Zhimomi informed that there were no immediate plans for a meeting in the pipeline.
Mention maybe made that the ENPO and Eastern Sumis of Kiphire and Shamator had a coordination meeting on July 4 at Hotel Saramati, Dimapur wherein the ENPO have proposed Eastern Sumi Hoho to be a part of the proposed FNT.
The ESH is yet to revert to ENPO on this matter.
The ESH on 29 June also held a peaceful rally and submitted a memorandum to Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio reiterating their desire to exist politically, economically and administratively with present Nagaland.
