Nagas have lost ‘a tall leader’: NSF on the demise of Lt Noke Wangnao

Kohima: Lt Wangnao to be laid to rest in Mon Town on Wednesday

The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) has said that the Naga people have lost “a tall leader” in the demise of late Noke Wangnao.  In its condolence message, NSF stated that late Wangnao was a visionary leader who brought about many social changes for the common cause of the Konyak community in particular and the Naga people at large.

The Federation expressed its sadness over the passing away of the senior-most legislator and Advisor of social Welfare, Government of Nagaland. NSF also extended its condolences to the bereaved family and loved ones of the departed.

Late Noke Wangnao passed away on Monday morning in Dimapur. He was accorded State Funeral which was attended by Chief Minister and fellow legislators. The respected leader’s mortal remains were reached his home in Mon Town on Tuesday where he will be laid to rest on Wednesday.

As a mark of respect and tribute to the departed, the Deputy Commissioner of Mon has directed all shops and business establishments in the town to remain closed on Wednesday from 6:00 am to 5:00 pm.
