The Mokokchung District Volleyball Association is set to organise the 16th edition of the Imchaba Masters Memorial Nagaland Open Volleyball Trophy, scheduled to take place from September 19 to September 22 at the Multi-purpose Sports Complex in Mokokchung.
In a press statement released by Lakhi Longkumer, Convenor of the Organizing Committee, it was revealed that this year’s tournament will feature 19 teams vying for the coveted trophy. The championship winner will receive a cash prize of INR 80,000, a running trophy, and certificates. The first runner-up will be awarded INR 50,000 along with certificates, while the third and fourth runner-up teams will receive cash prizes of INR 30,000 and INR 20,000, respectively. Additionally, individual awards will also be presented.

Among the new entrants to the tournament are Chienino Brothers from Kiruphema, Archippus Club from Dimapur, United Changki, G-Sports from Mokokchung, Ozümi Volleyball Team, Mongsenbai and Rongpang Club from Tsürangkong.
The inaugural ceremony is scheduled for 19 September, commencing at 10:00 am. Col. Rahul Gurung, Kirti Chakra and Commandant of the 12 Assam Rifles in Mokokchung, will serve as the inaugural patron for the event.
The opening match of the 16th Imchaba Masters Memorial Nagaland Open Volleyball Trophy will feature Spartan Club from Lakhuni facing off against Chienino Brothers from Kiruphema, Kohima.
