The Department of Health & Family welfare in collaboration with the District Mental Health program (DMHP), Tuensang conducted a Mental health awareness program at Noklak CHC on Wednesday.

The Awareness programme was organised to sensitise the nurses, community health workers from various Primary Healthcare Center (PHCs) , Health and Wellness Centres (HWCs) and Sub centres under Noklak District. Over 30 participants attend the program.

Twenty- five patients availed mental health services including eight patients who were detected to be suffering from serious mental illness
The health camp was led by Doctor Senilo Magh, MD Psychiatry, Junior Specialist, District hospital Tuensang who spoke on mental health issues and the need to tackle mental health clinically.
Encouraging all the communities to instill healthy practices for healthy mind and living, Dr. Magh also reminded that mental illness can happen to anyone, therefore one should not discriminate the illness but instead extend necessary help.
