The installation ceremony of the 30th Alongtaki AC Congress committee took place at the residence of Treasurer A. Lendi Ao in Longchem HQ on October 24.

The installation program was graced by the presence of Shaboh Konyak, former MLA and Vice President of the Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC), who served as the Special Guest.

Shaboh Konyak, in his brief speech, emphasized on the significance of Alongtaki AC, stating, “This is a constituency that demands our full attention; it possesses a remarkable legacy of producing exceptional Congress leaders like Dr. Imkongliba, who played important roles in guiding the Nagas toward statehood, and the former medical minister, Bendang.” Additionally, he conveyed his appreciation for the unity shown in reviving the Congress party in Alongtaki AC. Konyak also highlighted the unique nature of the Congress party, remarking, “It is the sole party that adheres to the 10-point modalities, which ensured that the Nagas did not face hardships during its early years.” In conclusion, Shaboh urged those present to nurture and support capable leaders who can lead the NPCC in the future.

New officials were inducted at the installation ceremony. Short speeches from Japukong, Jangpetkong, Tsurangkong and Lendi Treasurer were also delivered.

The Inaugural ceremony was attended by District Congress Committee Mokokchung, NPCC and Nagaland Pradesh Youth Council (NPYC).
