The World diabetes day was observed today in Tuensang, organised by the NCD treatment Centre Tuensang. The day was held at the District Hospital conference hall with diabetic patients under treatment

A brief note on diabetes was delivered by Dr.Kemhieneinuo Linyu, Nodal Officer NCD where she highlighted the importance of early detection treatment and compliance to treatment. She further stated that with regular follow up the blood sugar level can be controlled for preventing all the complications due to uncontrolled diabetes.

In the group discussion with diabetic patients, they appreciated the hospital for the free medicines and free health checkup including blood sugar tests without any gap in the supply of drugs and consumables.

The NCD counsellor noted the importance of exercise and lifestyle modification for optimal control of blood sugar. Further, the event concluded with gift packs consisting of diabetic friendly food distributed to patients.
