Kohima reports 96 per cent coverage of MR and Routine Immunization

Kohima: DPO emphasizes plan to identify and reach those left out or dropouts for MR vaccination

The Kohima District Task Force for Immunization convened a meeting on Monday in view of the Measles Rubella (MR) mop-up campaign that commenced today and will go on till 30th November 2023, DIPR informed.

At the meeting, Dr Khrievilhou Nakhro, District Program Officer for RCH/UIP Kohima, highlighted the notable accomplishment of 96% success rate in vaccinating for Measles Rubella and Routine Immunization from April to November 2023. He emphasized the preparation of a micro plan to identify and reach those left out or dropouts for MR vaccination during the mop-up campaign. Dr Nakhro also expressed gratitude to all stakeholders and line departments for their continuous support, urging them to contribute wholeheartedly to achieve the targeted goals.

Kehile Semp, District Coordinator for the Indian Social Responsibility Network (ISRN), presented a comprehensive report on the activities of ISRN, while Areni, District Consultant at ISRN, shared experiences gained during the vaccination drive.

In his closing remarks, Deputy Commissioner Kohima, Kumar Ramnikant, commended the District Task Force for Immunization Team for their efforts and urged all stakeholders and line departments to intensify efforts in disseminating the benefits of Measles and Rubella vaccination to ensure the success of the campaign.

The meeting was conducted at the Conference Hall of Deputy Commissioner Kohima.
