The Additional SP Wokha Soriso K Quinker, today informed that both the bodies of the two drowned youth from Wokha have been retrieved and handed over to the family after completing the inquest report and other formalities.

The first body was found between 6:30 pm to 7:00 pm yesterday while the second body was retrieved around 5 am in the morning. “It was a coordinated search and rescue operation consisting of Administration, Police, SDRF team, local fishermen and the public,” said Quinker.

The two men were reported to have drowned at the downstream of Doyang Dam in Wokha, whereby the Police received the news around 6 pm in the evening. The Police team headed by OC Sanis and I/C Doyang outpost were dispatched immediately along with the SDRF team for the search operation.
