During a press conference at Hotel Japfu, the Chhief event manager, Nunese Sale, announced that participants can register on a first-come, first-served basis, and there will be no registration charges. Each performance will be allotted a maximum of three minutes. Registration will be closed once the projected event schedule is filled.
“This is an event filled with promises to be an exciting event, celebrating the rich heritage of folk song and fusion music,” stated Sale.
The average projected slot will accommodate ten groups/individuals per category. Certificates of participation will be awarded to all participants. The event will feature indigenous products and delicacies which will be available at the venue.
The organisers also announced that emerging potential performers will have the opportunity to be groomed by TaFMA.
Sharing the first edition experiences, the organisers mentioned that the first edition witnessed the participation from six tribes while also acknowledging that there were some major loopholes. For this year’s edition, the organisers expressed confidence in attracting more than ten tribes this year.

Sale also emphasized that these events will help promote the growth of folk and fusion musicians, citing the example of Lidi Kro-u, who have seen success after their win last year. “They were given the opportunity to perform in front of the President and at many significant programs,” informed Sale.
Neilakuonuo Metha will be the event icon for this year’s edition.
The main objectives of the event, according to Sale, are to promote the rich culture and heritage, to scout and groom potential artists to represent the state in various events under TaFMA, to provide a platform for local entrepreneurs to showcase their products, and to create awareness about different schemes and projects for the people.
