No additional information to be disclosed, respect the privacy of the family, says Kohima Police

Hours after the body of a 47-year-old man, was discovered this morning at the main PHED water reservoir in Jotsoma at 9 am, the Police have stated that no additional information will be  disclosed out of respect for the privacy of the family.

Following the discovery of the body, the identity of the deceased was circulated in several social media platforms.

Reports indicate that the deceased held the position of Executive Engineer in the Power Department.

Additional Superintendent of Police and PRO Kohima, Relo T Aye, confirmed that the body was released to the family later in the day. Aye suggested that the circumstances of the death were suspicious, leading to the filing of an FIR at Zubza Police Station.

The Public Health Engineering Department (PHED), Urban Division has also issued a press release informing consumers in Kohima town and Kohima Science College area that there will be no water supply for the next two days due to the urgent need of water maintenance at the Water Treatment Plant.
