The Innovation & Incubation Space at the Capital Convention Center in Kohima was officially inaugurated today.
The space for the newly inaugurated Innovation Incubation Space is located at the Capital Convention Center, which was transformed from a parking lot into a dynamic hub for startups. The swift transformation was carried out by an architecture firm and furnished by a business startup, exemplifying the collaborative spirit of the startup community. The vision behind the incubation center is to encourage startups to thrive by offering them a subsidized rent rate.
Hekani Jakhalu, Advisor to the Government of Nagaland, Industries & Commerce, in her key note address, spoke on the pivotal role of startups in shaping the economic landscape of the state.
Mission Director of AIM (NITI Aayog), Dr.Chintan Vaishnav, provided a special address, offering a national perspective on innovation and the crucial support startups require to thrive.
Kekhrievor Kevichusa, IPoS, Commissioner & Secretary to the Govt. of Nagaland, Industries & Commerce Dept., and Nodal Officer for Startup India provided a comprehensive overview of the current state and future prospects of the Startup Ecosystem in Nagaland, enlightening attendees on the region’s potential for growth and development.
The concluding remarks was shared by Keneirienuo K Theunuo DY Director Dept. of Industries & Commerce & Team Leader Startup Nagaland, who highlighted the collaborative efforts required to propel Nagaland’s startup ecosystem forward.

IDAN, the facilitator of investment in the state, is entrusted with the custodianship of this initiative. The space aims to be a meeting ground for investors and startups, fostering both physical and online interactions with mentors. The Innovation Incubation Space extends its reach beyond Nagaland, aspiring to become a hub where researchers, scholars, entrepreneurs, and investors converge with its goal to transform it into a beacon of inspiration and innovation, nurturing a resilient startup ecosystem that transcends geographical boundaries.
The welcome note was delivered by Reny Wilfred (IAS), Joint Secretary IDAN & Finance Dept., setting the stage for a day dedicated to innovation and entrepreneurship. Distinguished dignitaries and experts gathered to share insights, marking a significant leap forward for Nagaland’s burgeoning startup ecosystem.
