Two cadres of Zeliangrong United Front (ZUF) and an NSCN-IM cadre were reportedly killed in a clash between the factions on Sunday morning.

The incident is reported to have taken place around 7:25 am between the forest of Lamdangmei and Thangal village, about 45 km north from Khoupum Police Station, Noney district of Manipur.

As per sources, it is learnt that the ZUF cadres attacked the NSCN-IM early this morning and the NSCN-IM retaliated.

Two ZUF cadres were killed and one NSCN-IM was injured, who later succumbed to his injuries and died.

Sources also said the clash is not related to the ongoing Manipur conflict, adding that the ZUF and NSCN-IM conflict had sparked during the month of October and November.
