The first Special Credit Outreach Program on PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi in Longleng district took place on 10 September at Bhumnyu Village, Longleng.
Organised by the State Bank of India Longleng branch, the event was conducted by SBI Longleng branch along with Bank officials from Jorhat headed by Deputy General Manager Jorhat Jitendra Kant Thakur, Chief Manager FI RBO Mokokchung Kreho Athil, Lead District Manager (LDM) Hatneikim Gangte Imsong and the team from Mokokchung, District Administration Longleng and the Department of Rural Development.
During the programme, Jitendra Kant Thakur, Deputy General Manager Jorhat gave a brief highlight on the PM-Kisan loan.
Trongdipa Tongpi Sangtam, SDO (civil) urged the genuine beneficiaries to avail of the loans but to also recover the amount and the interest given by the bank on time to avoid any strain on the relationship between the beneficiaries and the bank; this also builds a healthy relationship between the two, he added.
The SDO pointed out loans for various programmes are provided the bank but advised against misusing the benefit. He also requested the educated youth and council members to help the beneficiaries in filling up the forms to avail of the loan.
The programme was attended by government officials and PM KISAN beneficiaries from Bhumnyu village.
A good number of PM KISAN beneficiaries were in attendance, stated LDA Imsong.
In a given statement to Nagaland Tribune, Hatneikim Gangte Imsong, the LDM of Mokokchung and Longleng, welcomed the fact that so many PM KISAN beneficiaries had shown up on 10 September. The organisers are thrilled that the Village Council is going to stand as guarantors for the KCC (Animal Husbandry and Fisheries) applicants from Bhumnyu Village, stated Imsong. She added they were hopeful that the completed applications will be submitted to the branch for further sanction at the earliest.
Imsong also further stated that the response of the villagers was positive with a good number of PM KISAN beneficiaries in attendance.
The Special Credit Outreach Program will be conducted in other villages under Longleng district till 29 September.
