In a thrilling finale held at NAPTC, Chümoukedima, Mokokchung District won over Dimapur with a score 3-0 win to claim the championship title in the 11th Nagaland Veterans Inter-District Football Tournament. Organized by the Nagaland Veterans Football Association, the tournament concluded on Thursday, 29th February.

Tiaakum, representing Mokokchung, emerged as the standout performer, netting two crucial goals in the final match and earning the prestigious Player of the Tournament award. Leading the charge, Mokokchung’s team captain, Akangmeren, sealed the victory with an additional goal.

Earlier in the semifinal, Mokokchung displayed dominance, overpowering Niuland with a 5-1 victory.

This is the sixth time that Mokokchung veterans have clinched the tournament title.
