The Thanksgiving programme of Thejavizo Solo, elected councillor New Market Ward 8 was held at New Market Panchayat Hall, Kohima on July 6.
Special Guest Salhoutuonuo Kruse, Minister Horticulture and Women Resource Development stated that Solo was a lucky candidate as he has won unopposed where his community has put their trust in him and made him won unopposed. She assured that the Councillor will work hard and bring positive change to their communities. “Our generation has changed, we had reached a mindset where woman are now given a chance to make decisions along with men in decision making bodies,” said Kruse.

In a brief speech, Thejavizo Solo highlighted that having being born and brought up in a humble family in New Market Colony, the urge to involve in social service intensified compelling him to contest the Municipal Election, without realizing whether people will accept him.
“But as the saying goes expect the most unexpected thing in life, I am overwhelmed by your unwavering support, hard work and dedication to reach thus far. The journey has just started and together we still have many miles to go before we sleep,” expressed Solo.
He said the commitment to their shared vision has-been the driving force behind their success and added that this was not his success alone, but a success of each and every individual in the ward.
He reaffirmed his commitment towards the priorities enshrined in the election manifesto that includes proper sanitation, Healthcare, welfare oriented measures, equal benefits on govt sponsored schemes, Youth entrepreneurship, working close coordination with Panchayat, Youth and Women bodies for the overall development of the Ward

The Councillor said he look forward to work in making Kohima city a better and more vibrant place to live in.

Kelhouneizo Yhome, Gen Secy, CEN youth org.I/V NDPP central also shared words of gratitude and encouragement while Alika Solo on behalf of the family thanked the members of the colony .
Rokobeizo Nyisou, Chairman New Market Area Panchayat pronounced the welcome address. The program was blessed with invocation by Pastor UCRC New Market Zhabu Gwirie and benediction by Daniel Sangma Pastor, Garo Baptist Church new market. Shürhosienuo Solo and Dziesevizo Rutsa presented special numbers.
