The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Legislature Party of Nagaland has today requested for the appointment of deputy chairpersons for the ULBs, where both parties contested together, be made from the BJP. It has further appealed for the accommodation of government nominees from the BJP party to the respective municipal and town councils.
Extending heartfelt greetings and congratulations to the Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio, for the successful conduct of the Urban Local Body (ULB) election, the (BJP) Legislature Party stated that under Rio’s leadership, the PDA alliance has been further strengthened following the recently concluded municipal and town council elections in the state.
“In light of this success, the BJP Legislature Party would like to request that the appointment of deputy chairpersons for the ULBs, where both parties contested together, be made from the BJP. This step will contribute to maintaining and enhancing the strength of the PDA alliance,” stated a press release issued by the Media Cell Deputy CMO.

Appealing for the accommodation of government nominees from the BJP party to the respective municipal and town councils, the press release stated that this should be done in consultation with the members from the respective areas to prevent any misunderstandings between the alliance partners.
“We firmly believe that the esteemed authority and leadership of the Chief Minister will respond positively to these requests, upholding the true spirit of the PDA alliance,” stated the party.
