The Indian Oil Company (IOC) held the structured meet of LPG distributors of Nagaland on July 12 at Hotel Vivor Kohima. A training for delivery boys was also held.
The programme was conducted to follow the basic safety measures in LPG distribution. LPG distributors from different parts of the state attended the day-long programme.
Speaking at the occasion, Dinesh Prasad Vidyarthi, Chief General Manager (LPG) Indian Oil Corporation, Assam Oil Division (IOC, AOD) mentioned the event was held to also created better awareness on digital initiative so that the cylinders will go to the right customer without being diverted. Through the digital initiative, customer have to book cylinders by giving a missed call from their registered mobile number to the service provider or through SMS, IVRS, WhatsApp etc, informed Vidyarthi. Further, in order to ease the problems of those without access to mobile phones, the company has opened Common Service Centre (CSC) and Village Level Enterprise (VLEs).

In Nagaland, there are 79 Indane distributors with the two field officers conducting the training so that digital initiative will penetrate more into the interior areas.
Meanwhile, it was informed that the Nagaland government through a circular on July 2 has notified that IOC has initiated Digital booking and Delivery Authentication Code (DAC) based confirmation of Domestic LPG refill to expand the digital movement initiated by the Government of India and to ensure that Gas cylinder are delivered to the genuine customers.
