Richard Yimto, Rtd. IGP along with his wife Shojila formally joined the Congress Party today, the Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee has informed. It also said that Yimto is the son in law of Late Yamakam, former minister of Nagaland.

The retired IPS officer joined the Party in the presence of Member of Lok Sabha and President of NPCC, S Supongmeren Jamir and Ranajit Mukherjee, AICC Secretary Incharge of Nagaland.

A couple of days ago, four prominent individuals joined the Party. They were Dr Temsuwati, Rtd. Addl Dev Commissioner and former Chairperson of the State BJP Intellectual Committee, Dr Roland Lotha, NPF Working Committee Member, Yanger Jamir, VP NPF Central Youth, and Moses R Ovung, BJP Youth (BJYM) leader.
