Leaders of the NSCN-IM and 7 NNPGs with members of FNR led by its Convenor Dr Wati Aier after the signing of the September Joint Accordant on 14 September, 2022.

The Naga apex organizations and the church on Saturday extended their support to the September Joint Accordant signed by the National Socialist Council of Nagalim-Isak-Muivah (NSCN-IM) and the Working Committee of the seven Naga National Political Groups (NNPGs). The meeting was held at Western Chakhesang Baptist Church Council complex, Dimapur and initiated by the Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR).

The Naga apex organizations and the church came together with a realization that Naga people must change by “acting in hope and acknowledging” one another as people of common belonging in the moment for the future.

They stated that the public in sincere trust await the fulfillment of the September Joint Accordant by the signatories in “letter and in spirit.”

“The Naga public will render our whole hearted assistance to this reconciliation process for the NSCN/GPRN and NNPGs to find common ground and mutually agree on a relationship of cooperation based on the Naga historical and political rights in order to move forward,” they stated.

The NSCN (IM) and the Working Committee, Naga National Political Groups (NNPGs) on 14 September renewed “to work together in the spirit of love,” and desist from all forms of armed violence and refrain from indulging in violence of words through print and social media among Naga Political Groups (NPGs) and the general public.

The parties also committed to a dialogue in order to move forward, live in peace and overcome the cynicism, anxiety and disagreements that have caused them to see each other as foes and strangers, rather than members of the same family.

The groups had further declared to honour in letter and in spirit the Covenant of Reconciliation (CoR) of 13 June 2009 signed by late Isak Chishi Swu, late S S Khaplang and Brig (Retired) S Singnya.

The 14 September 2022 accordant was signed by Gen (Retired) V S Atem, Collective Leadership, NSCN/GPRN and Alezo Venuh, Co-ordinator, WC NNPG.

The meeting on Saturday was attended by Forum for Naga Reconciliation, Nagaland Joint Christian Forum, Naga Christian Forum, Manipur, Don Bosco Society, Naga Mother’s Association, Naga Hoho, Nagaland Tribes Council, Tenyimi Peoples’ Organization, United Naga Council, Central Nagaland Tribes Council, Global Naga Forum, Nagaland Gaon Bura Federation, Naga Students’ Federation and All Naga Students Association, Manipur.
