The Lotha Students’ Union (LSU) has supported the ‘Concerned Aspirant Group’ who are seeking age relaxation for entry into Nagaland State government jobs for eligible candidates affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
“The LSU shares the concerns of the aspirants and acknowledges the unprecedented challenges posed by the pandemic and cannot ignore the plight of thousands of aspirants who have been denied opportunities due to circumstances beyond their control,” stated the Union’s President Lirhonthung E. Kithan and Education & Statistics Secretary.
It added that the pandemic has already caused irreparable damage to the aspirants’ careers and said that the demand for age relaxation is not only justified but also necessary to restore hope and faith in the system.

Urging the State Government to acknowledge the gravity of the situation and respond with empathy and urgency, the LSU said that it is imperative for leaders take bold steps to address the unemployment crisis. “We must learn from other states that have success fully implemented age relaxation measures to support their youth,” it added. The Union further appealed to the government to act with “compassion and wisdom” as the exam notification for NPSC and NSSB draws close.
