Thepushuyi Keyho, President NNC has clarified in a press statement today that, “While I was the Vice President of the NNC under Gen.(retd) TM Keyho and Brig.(retd) S. Singnya, I was present in the discussions (meeting) held on the 13th of December 2016 surrounding the peace talk agreement between the Government of India and the NNPG’s”.
While Keyho participated in the dialogue and deliberation processes, it is important to note that he did not take part in the signing of the Agreed Position between GoI and 7NNPG’s which was signed on 17th November 2017.

Therefore, it did not imply his endorsement or acceptance of the final agreement.
“My decision not to sign the agreement stems from the fact that ‘ Agreed Position’ was against the sovereign rights of the Naga people. And as I have taken oath of allegiance under the Yehzabo, I vow to stand on the mandate given to the NNC by the Naga people and stand by the Naga Plebiscite of 16th May 1951 for full sovereignty; nothing more nothing less,” stated Keyho.
