The Khiamniungan Tribal Council (KTC) has clarified against a recent statement made by Reny Wilfred, IAS on child trafficking in Noklak on social media platforms. The KTC claimed that there is no child trafficking cases filed or registered in Noklak.
“Pretence to existence of Child Trafficking under Noklak district statement made by Mr. Reny Wilfred the then Deputy Commissioner, Noklak is questionable. Reny Wilfered (IAS) was the first Dy. Commissioner posted on the 6th of Aug. 2020 till 28th July 2021. Since then, there is no such child trafficking cases filed or registered at any of the police stations, under Noklak district nor reported in any of the related child care and protection institution under Noklak district except on Molestation case against the two (2) juvenile girl who were allegedly assaulted by Mr. Reny Wilfred himself the then Dy. Commissioner, Noklak in the year 2021. Therefore, existence of a child trafficking statement made by Reny Wilferd on social media platforms under Noklak district is unsubstantiated,” stated the KTC.

The Council also questioned: If Reny Wilfred has the confidence to reveal that there is such a Child trafficking prevailing in the district then why he has remained a silent spectator during his posting as DC Noklak?
“His fabricated child trafficking allegation defaming the entire populace of Noklak is to deviate from his actual offence which is not subjected to arise in this instant case,” stated the KTC urging the law enforcing agencies to expedite the pending case and deliver justice to the victims as per the law.
