AIFUCTO acknowledges services of contractual teachers; appreciates govt’s ‘bold decision’

The All India Federation of University and College Teachers’ Organisations (AIFUCTO) submitted a letter of appreciation addressed to the Chief Minister/Minister of Higher Education on April 15 acknowledging the services rendered by the contractual teachers and the Government’s decision to regularise their service.

It considered the Nagaland Government’s decision on absorption of the contractual Assistant Professors under the Higher Education Department, Government of Nagaland as a “bold decision taken”.  The organisation also reminded that it had earlier submi’ted a representation on July 6, 2023 requested the Nagaland government on this matter. “It is now that your Government has acted upon promptly, the AIFUCTO believe this decision will boost the growth of the Higher Education in the state.  The contributions made by these contractual teachers cannot go unnoticed as many of them have served the institutions for many years and has become indispensable in their respective colleges having being well-equipped with the subject matters and expertise in classroom engagements,” stated the AIFUCTO.

Acknowledging the services rendered by the contractual teachers to the growth of the institutions in particular and the Higher Education of the state at large, the AIFUCTO views that the decision of absorbing the contractual teachers “will provide the opportunity for them to continue to serve the institutions with utmost sincerity and dedication”.
