DoSE felicitates National Teachers’ Award 2022 recipient Mimi Yhoshü

Mimi Yhoshü, the recipient of the National Teachers’ Award 2022, was felicitated in a programme organised by the Department of School Education, Nagaland (DoSE) on 25 October.

Yhoshü is the Head Teacher, Government Middle School Officers’ Hill in Kohima.

The felicitation programme was chaired by Megosevi Kuotsu, Assistant Director, DoSE.

Mimi Yhoshü dedicated the National Award to the students and teachers of GMS Officers’ Hill Kohima and her family members. Talking about the new initiatives she has introduced in the school, she said that she has taken up calligraphy with the aim to help improve the handwriting of her students.

Mimi also said to create interest and remove the fear of mathematics and science subjects in students, she has committed to give a sum of Rs 5000 each to those students who secure distinction in both subjects in Class 8 Board Examination from the current academic year onwards.

Principal Director of School Education, Thavaseelan K, IAS, in his speech lauded the students, staff and community for the collaborative teamwork and the emphasis on skill development despite limited resources in the school.

Mimi Yhoshü’s students from GMS Officers’ Hill, Kohima presented a special number at the programme.

Joint Secretary to the Government of Nagaland Nokchashashi in his speech encouraged the awardee to become a global educator and to strive for excellence.
