The 5 Tribes Committee on Review of Reservation Policy (CoRRP) has announced that it will go ahead with its proposed agitation on May 29.
In a press release issued on May 28, the Committee informs that the State Govt through the Home Commissioner, Nagaland had issued a letter on May 25 addressed to Convenor, 5 Tribes Committee on Review of Reservation Policy, which was received only on May 28.
“The letter simply informs that the State Government on 7th May 2025 had constituted a Committee to examine and submit its findings on Policy for Reservation in Government employment within 3 months time. It further requested the 5 Tribes CoRRP to re-consider the proposed agitations starting from 29th May 2025 onwards,” stated the Committee.
Following consultations with the five tribes’ apex bodies, the Committee came to a unanimous decision that the “State Govt’s letter not only lacks sincere commitment but fails to address our core concerns and issues raised in the Memorandum of 20/09/2024”.
“Therefore, the proposed agitations starting 29th May 2025 onwards will go ahead as planned,” maintained the Committee.
