The Combined Technical Association of Nagaland (CTAN) and the Nagaland NET Qualified Forum (NNQF) will organize a public dialogue with regard to the controversial recruitment process of 147 assistant professors and librarians under the department of Higher Education on June 7 at Angami Women Organization Hall, Kohima, starting from 11:00 a.m.
The dialogue aims to foster an open and constructive conversation on issues surrounding the 147 posts and broader concerns related to transparency, equal opportunity, and fair recruitment processes in Nagaland.
Addressing a press conference at the Kohima Press Club office on Friday, Dr. Videkhono Yhokha, core member of NNQF, called upon the public, civil society organizations, student bodies, churches, and concerned citizens to participate in the dialogue. She clarified that no personal invitations have been issued, but through the press interaction, the organizers are appealing to all stakeholders to attend and contribute to the discussion.
Meshenlo Kath of CTAN emphasized that the intent of the dialogue is not to target any individual or department. Instead, it seeks to facilitate a healthy and transparent debate with the department of Higher Education, he said.
He said that a formal invitation was extended to both the department and the minister in-charge; however, both have communicated their inability to attend due to prior commitments. Despite this, the organizers have invited several prominent Naga intellectuals and public voices to participate.
Kath also highlighted that while the regularization order for the 147 assistant professors and librarians has been revoked, the requisition for the posts remains yet to reach the Nagaland Public Service Commission (NPSC).
“Our central concern remains—why has the requisition not been made yet?” he questioned, pointing to the lack of clarity in the recruitment process.
