The Ao Students’ Conference (AKM) has issued a five-day ultimatum to the Department of School Education, Nagaland, demanding the immediate implementation of High Court and Supreme Court orders regarding the RMSA teachers of the 2016 batch.
In a letter addressed to the Principal Director of the Department of School Education on September 14, AKM expressed deep concern over the prolonged issue surrounding the Nagaland RMSA teachers, stating that the delay is adversely affecting the academic functioning of 133 government high schools and the future of 367 teachers across Nagaland.
AKM stated that the continued agitation by RMSA teachers in the state capital has created uncertainty and disrupted the educational environment, depriving students of their right to stable and quality education. The student body emphasized that education must remain uninterrupted and called upon all stakeholders, including the government, to work actively towards resolving the issue.
“The AKM earnestly request the government to implement the relevant court orders to resolve the pending matters concerning the RMSA teachers’ batch of 2016. We firmly believe that addressing this issue is not only a legal obligation but also a moral one, as it directly affects the future of thousands of students in our state,” the letter read.

Giving the department five days from the receipt of the letter to act, AKM warned that if their demands are not met, it would be compelled to pursue “alternative courses of action to protect the future and welfare of the students.” The student body further cautioned that the concerned department will be “fully responsible for any consequences.”
The letter urged the government to treat the matter with urgency and respond immediately to avoid escalation.
