The District Mental Health Program under the National Health Mission Kiphire, conducted a workshop on suicide prevention with the theme “Changing the Narrative on Suicide” to foster a mentally healthier and more resilient community at the Fire Station office Kiphire.
The awareness program was attended by the personnel of fire and emergency services Kiphire, where resource persons psychiatric nurse Keniesanuo Kechu spoke on the importance of mental health.

She highlighted how mental illness impacts lifestyle and encouraged the personnel to engage in regular physical activities, avoid environments that promote negativity, and prioritize their overall wellbeing.
Counselling sessions were also provided to individuals who required mental health support.
The program was aimed to address the stigma and discrimination surrounding mental illness, while also promoting open conversations and encouraging people to seek help.
By creating awareness and offering support, the initiative seeks to build a safer and healthier community environment.
