The quarterfinal stage of the MDFA Trophy 2025 concluded over two days — October 20 and 21 — at the Imkongmeren Sports Complex, Mokokchung, producing four deserving semifinalists in Telongjem FC, Chargers FC, Doyang Strikers Mokokchung, and Super Seniors FC. The matches witnessed a mix of dominant displays, tactical discipline, and attacking flair as teams battled for a place in the final four of Mokokchung’s premier football tournament.
On October 20, the 1st quarterfinal match of the MDFA Trophy 2025 kicked off with an encounter between Super Seniors FC and Team Gilgal, where Super Seniors narrowly edged past their opponents with a 2–1 victory. Sentisang (11) opened the scoring in the 40th minute to hand Super Seniors the lead, but Team Gilgal’s Mughato Chishi (17) restored parity in the 45th minute with a quick equalizer. The deadlock was finally broken when Nyithung (21) capitalized on a defensive lapse in the 70th minute to regain the advantage for Super Seniors. Despite Team Gilgal’s late push and a goal in stoppage time, it proved insufficient as Super Seniors FC held on to their lead, sealing their place in the semifinals.
In the second quarterfinal match of the day, Doyang Strikers Mokokchung delivered a clean sheet performance to register a 5–0 win over Sangpang Riju Sporting Club. The Strikers wasted no time as Yhoto (9) opened the scoring in the 2nd minute. Maintaining their attacking momentum, Gamchui (15) doubled the lead in the 20th minute, followed by a clinical finish from Khanngam Horam (10) in the 36th minute to make it 3–0 before halftime. Returning after the break, Yhoto (9) completed his brace in the 48th minute, while Eshong (7) put the result beyond doubt with a fine strike in the 72nd minute. With this win, Doyang Strikers Mokokchung secured their spot in the semifinals.

The quarterfinal encounters resumed on October 21 with Telongjem FC facing Soyim Sports Society (SSS) in the first match of the day. Telongjem FC displayed exceptional attacking organization and precision to secure a 4–0 win. Tarepnungsang (Jersey No. 9) opened the scoring in just the 5th minute, setting the pace for the match. Thejasetuo B. Gwrie (No. 19) extended the lead in the 34th minute with a well-timed strike, as Telongjem entered halftime with a comfortable 2–0 lead. The second half saw no drop in intensity, as Tarepnungsang netted his second goal in the 49th minute to make it 3–0, before Vitoho Kiho (No. 5) completed the rout in the 60th minute.

In the final quarterfinal encounter, Chargers FC produced one of the most dominant performances of the tournament so far, defeating Thunderspark FC with a score of 7–0 win. Chargers wasted no time asserting their authority. Yangersosang (No. 15) opened the scoring in the 3rd minute, followed quickly by Takuchuba (No. 16) in the 5th. Longkhai (No. 7) added a third in the 24th minute, giving Chargers a 4–0 halftime lead. The second half continued in similar move, with Longkhai completing his brace in the 68th minute, Opang (No. 10) scoring in the 71st, and Tongpangnokdang (No. 9) sealing the result in the 75th minute.
With the completion of all four quarterfinal matches, Telongjem FC, Chargers FC, Doyang Strikers Mokokchung, and Super Seniors FC have advanced to the semifinals of the MDFA Trophy 2025.
