The Eastern Nagaland College Students’ Union (ENCSU) has appealed to the Director, Directorate of Higher Education in Kohima, seeking the prompt release of student scholarships for the current academic session.
In a letter addressed to the Director, the ENCSU expressed concern over the prolonged delay in disbursing the scholarships, stating that it has caused significant hardship to many students who rely on this financial assistance to support their academic pursuits and basic needs.
The Union highlighted that the delay has made it increasingly difficult for students, particularly those from economically weaker backgrounds, to continue their studies without distress.
The ENCSU has requested the Director for immediate intervention to ensure that the scholarships are released at the earliest possible time without any further delay.
The Union conveyed its full solidarity with the agitating students and stated that it will continue to stand with them until justice is served.

“We remain hopeful that the Directorate will take prompt and sympathetic action in the best interest of the student community,” the ENCSU stated in the letter.
The development comes amid growing concerns among students and student organizations over the delay in scholarship disbursement, which has affected the academic pursuits of many students in the region.
