Mhasizolie Metsieo, known to many as a finalist of Northeast Idol 2015, stepped forward to present his long-awaited debut album, Terhuo Dielie. The seven-track Tenyidie collection was formally released by Class-I contractor and NPF vice president, Peter Kuotsu, who shared moments of fond recollection and words of encouragement with the gathering at Red Cross Building on November 27.

Peter Kuotsu, in his speech, recalled the legacy of Metsieo’s late father a respected singer whose voice once inspired many in their village. “He left behind a gift, and Metsieo has carried it forward,” Kuotsu reflected, adding that talents are blessings “God has placed within each of us,” with singing being among the most cherished.

While acknowledging that Nagas, known for natural flair in music and sports, he reminded upcoming artistes that talent alone is not enough.

Performers, he said, must be conscious of their conduct as the public is always watching, and many promising singers lose their way not for lack of skill but because of mismanagement or lack of discipline. “If one uses talent wisely, God will guide the journey,” he added.

Kuotsu also touched on the cultural significance of language, noting that Tenyidie once served as a link language among tribes. With children today leaning heavily toward English, he urged the community to find ways to revive and strengthen Tenyidie. Music, he stressed, remains one of the most powerful tools to keep the language alive.

Drawing parallels with the Mizo community, he said prioritising one’s own language allows it to flourish far beyond its borders.

Mhasizolie spoke humbly about the journey behind the album. He credited God’s grace for enabling him to compose and complete the seven songs, while also thanking his parents, friends, and fellow artistes for their unwavering support. Many of the tracks, he said, were born out of deeply personal moments and pivotal phases of his life. His hope is simple: that listeners will feel the sincerity in each composition and that the songs will stand the test of time.

The launch event carried the warmth of a community gathering. Medolenuo Ambrocia chaired the programme, while Ruokuohetuo Soliezuo, Evangelist (NAGC), pronounced a dedicatory prayer for the new album. Album convenor Vizosielie Khoubve delivered greetings, and Victor Metsieo offered the vote of thanks. The event also featured a special performance by Ruokuovotuo Pfüsenuo, Nagaland Idol 2.07.
