In a move aimed at accelerating Nagaland’s digital health transformation, the State End-to-End Model Facility along with the ‘Scan and Share’ feature under the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) was formally inaugurated today at the District Hospital Dimapur. This is the first e-Model in the state.

Speaking at the launch, Commissioner & Secretary and State Mission Director, ABDM Nagaland, Anoop Khinchi, described the occasion as a landmark moment in the state’s efforts to strengthen healthcare delivery through technology-driven systems. He said the initiative reflects the government’s commitment to a more accessible, efficient, and patient-centric health system, ensuring that services reach citizens with greater speed and transparency.

Khinchi highlighted that the End-to-End Model Facility would stand as a benchmark for modern healthcare integration, merging improved infrastructure with digital innovation and compassionate service delivery. He further stated that the newly launched Scan and Share feature would simplify patient experience by enabling seamless digital sharing of medical records with healthcare providers.

“With Scan and Share, patients will no longer need to carry physical reports or stand through lengthy processes. It means less waiting, less paperwork, and more time for care, healing, and hope,” he said, noting that the initiative would help doctors access records instantly, resulting in more accurate and timely treatment.

Central to this development is the Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA)—a unique digital health ID for every citizen.

Khinchi underlined that ABHA empowers individuals to securely access and store their health records anytime, anywhere, giving patients’ ownership of their health data while enabling doctors to coordinate care more effectively. “In simple words, ABHA is the key that unlocks a truly connected healthcare system for all,” he reiterated.

Expressing gratitude to healthcare professionals, administrators, and partner agencies, the official acknowledged their contribution in making the launch possible. He noted that the digital transition represents not only technological growth but also a deepening of trust, collaboration, and inclusivity in the state’s healthcare system.

Khinchi urged all stakeholders to continue working with a shared vision to ensure that every citizen of Nagaland benefits from ABDM-enabled services.

Later, interacting with media persons, Khinchi said that people should have their health account since everything can be traced with it. He also said that people should be motivated to have ABHA ID registered as much as possible, which would help in digitization of the system.

Dr Nyan, State Nodal Officer, ADBM, Health & Family Welfare Department  informed that out of the 15.7 lakhs of Aadhaar created in the state, there is a saturation of about 50% of generation of Ayushman Bharat Health Account.

“To get into the Ayushman Bharat ecosystem, we have to generate the ABHA ID number,” he said adding ABHA ID number is a unique health account number.

He further informed that e-Hospital has been launched, which is basically a halth management information system, whereby to get into this, one needs to get the ABHA ID.

He said that the ABHA ID is also generated through various portals. One of the main portals where ABHA ID is generated is through the PMJAY (Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana) and the CMHIS [Chief Minister Health Insurance Scheme] cards and also the vertical programmatic softwares used in health department like the RCH 2.0, the NCD portal, the Ni-kshay portal, the IDSP-IHIP portal, he stated.

He further said that people would have to download the ABHA app, which is the Personal Health Records app, adding the ABHA ID is linked to Aadhaar.

When asked whether the same counter would be opened in other district hospitals, it was informed that such counters and facilities would be made available in all other district hospitals.

While Dimapur District Hospital became first to start, the second one would be Tuensang.

An official urged the general public to be part of the Digital India initiative and empower health through registration from NextGen e-Hospital.
