Spark Boys from Amahator village emerge Champions of 3rd ZPC Open Volleyball Championship 2025

The 3rd edition of ZPC Open Volleyball Championship 2025 concluded today with Spark Boys from Amahator village emerging as champions, marking their stronghold as winners since 2023. The championship, which saw an impressive display of skills from 10 volleyball clubs, was a testament to the growing talent in the region.

The Spark Boys defeated United Fables Club from Kiphire Town in a tightly contested final match to lift the coveted trophy.

Ingauringle Putlang, Convenor of the 3rd ZPC Open Volleyball Championship said the main purpose of organizing the championship was to provide a platform for young people to discover their talents and come together in unity, learning and growing through the love of volleyball.

Joseph Sangtam, coach of the Spark Boys emphasized the importance of sports in bringing people together and creating opportunities for young athletes. “Sports can open doors to new opportunities, just like academics,” he said.

Dr Pyobenthung, Principal of Zisaji Presidency College, stressed the importance of good health, both physical and mental, and how sports can help achieve it. He also appreciated the support of BJP Unit Kiphire, which sponsored the championship, and other individuals who contributed to its success.

The championship, which began in 2023, aims to encourage youths of Kiphire to improve their skills in sports and promote all-round development.

The two-day event, which kicked off on December 04, was officially concluded today with a cheerful and sportsmanlike spirit.
