Veteran Naga journalist, Monalisa Changkija conferred Lifetime Achievement Award

Veteran journalist and former Editor-Publisher of Nagaland Page, Tiamerenla Monalisa Changkija was conferred the Lifetime Achievement Award for her remarkable and sustained contribution to journalism in the Northeast India region at the 3rd Kalyan Barooah Awards 2025 today, which is initiated by the North East Media Forum (NEMF), in association with My Home India.

A five-member jury comprising former AIR Director General, Moushumi Chakrabarty, senior journalists, Achinta Bora (PTI), Sandeep Phukan (The Hindu), Saching Gogoi (BBC), and IIMC Aizawl Regional Director, Prof Shashwati Goswami evaluated the nominations received across different categories.

In the Print Category, Amal Goswami, Chief Staff Report of Dainik Janambhumi, Assam was declared the winner, while the Electronic Media Award went to Kshetrimayum Premchand, Chief Reporter of SKTV News, Imphal, Manipur.

In the Digital Medica Category, Mridul Kumar Handique of Pratidin Digital, Assam bagged the award.

No entries were received for the Still Photography and Videography categories.

The awards would be presented on December 11 at the Constitution Club of India, New Delhi, coinciding with the Birth Anniversary of late Kalyan Barooah.

It may be mentioned that NEMF is a Delhi-based organization for journalists working in Delhi-NCR, hailing from India’s North Eastern region and journalists reporting in the region. My Home India is an NGO dedicated to working towards bringing emotional integration between people from different parts of the country with people from India’s North Eastern region.
