Legal Services Stall set up by the Nagaland State Legal Services Authority (NSLSA) at Naga Heritage Village, Kisama during the 26th Hornbill Festival culminated on December 10.
According to the Member Secretary, NSLSA, Neiko Akami, more than 1000 beneficiaries came and availed free legal services at the stall.
The total number of beneficiaries recorded was 1094 including local visitors, domestic tourists.
Justice Ashutosh Kumar, Chief Justice, Gauhati High Court & Patron-in-Chief, Nagaland State Legal Services Authority visited the Legal Services Stall at Naga Heritage Village, Kisama on December 2. His lordship was accompanied by other Gauhati High Court judges & officials.
The beneficiaries during the 10 days collected legal Pamphlets of different topics including new laws in English & Nagamese. Pamphlets translated into different local dialects were also distributed.

The message of free legal services was widely put across and those seeking legal assistance/representation were referred to respective District Legal Services Authorities and State Legal Services Authority.
The stall was assisted by Panel Lawyers (PL) and Para Legal Volunteers (PLVs), staff of NSLSA.
7 interns from St. Joseph’s College, Jakhama, Under Graduate Political Science and History Department also took part in distribution of legal pamphlets and advocating on free legal services.
