Pungro, Nagaland: The Pungro Village Students’ Union (PVSU) celebrates 55th years of excellence under the theme “Thriving towards a limitless future”,
The event was graced by Shri. S. Kiusumew, Hon’ble MLA and Advisor (Fire & Emergency, Civil Defences and Home Guards, Relief and Rehabilitation) Government of Nagaland.
The programme commenced with a spectacular “March Past” by students from College, Hr. Secondary, and High school levels, showcasing unity, discipline, and vibrant school spirit.
Fr. Matthew, St. Paul Parish Pungro, delivered the invocation, setting a tone of inspiration and reflection. The Head GB of Pungro Village Shri. Vongtsukiu, in his address, underscored the pivotal role of education in shaping societal progress and individual success. Lesemew, President of PVSU, delivered a compelling presidential address, highlighting the union’s achievements over the past 55 years and outlining a bold vision for the future. He emphasized the union’s unwavering commitment to promoting academic excellence.
The highlight of the event was the inauguration of the Students’ Library, Constructed under Special Assistance to states for Capital Investment (SASCI) Implemented by Department of Arts & Culture, Nagaland, as a modern resource and a conducive learning environment. Special Guest Shri. S. Kiusumew, in his inaugural address shared valuable insights on navigating academic careers in a rapidly changing world, appreciating students’ efforts and encouraging them to strive for excellence. He also lauded the PVSU’s efforts in creating this landmark facility and urged students to leverage it for academic and personal growth.
Miss. R. Warela Yimchunger, who secured Top 3rd position in Economics under Nagaland University, shared her inspiring academic journey, offering valuable insights and motivation to fellow students. Her success story resonated deeply with the audience, exemplifying the kind of excellence PVSU strives to nurture.
The KHOLAR Family, YouTube Channel presented a thought-provoking drama on the transformative role of students in society, leaving the audience inspired.
The Vice President Mr. Shihsumew expressed heartfelt gratitude to dignitaries and participants, and Dr. Berimong, Pastor, Pungro Village, delivered the benediction, wishing everyone success and prosperity.
The programme concluded with a captivating cultural folk dance performance by the women folk, showcasing the rich traditional heritage and artistic expressions of the community, leaving the audience mesmerized and bringing the celebration to a memorable close.
The event underscored PVSU’s steadfast commitment to fostering academic excellence, leadership, and community engagement. The inauguration of the Students’ Library is set to create new opportunities for students in PUNGRO and beyond.
