Seyochung Village witnessed a meaningful programme today with the presence of Disani Newmai, Additional Superintendent of Police, Kiphire, who represented Rupin Sharma, IPS, Director General of Police (DGP), Nagaland.
Addressing the gathering, Disani Newmai stated that preserving culture alone is not enough, the community must also encourage sustainability and constructive growth.
He emphasized the importance of peaceful coexistence with all sections of society.
He also informed that the DGP could not attend the programme as he was engaged in an important Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) meeting in Delhi.
Delivering the keynote address, Longtili C Sangtam expressed gratitude to the special guest for taking time to be present and conveyed best wishes, saying, “God bless your leadership.” He highlighted the rich legacy of Seyochung Village, established in 1871 according to oral history, and the formation of the Seyochung Village Students’ Union in 1963.
He added that the village is blessed as the founder is still alive and shared that the Students’ Union currently has 948 registered students.

Lichose Yangziba, in his address, thanked God for the growth of the village and called for unity among the people at all times.
Yangkhaba, Suro Pümji Abüdongba, encouraged students by saying, “Let your education bear fruit, Know God, and you will succeed.” He further stated that the Students’ Union has been strengthened with a renewed focus on improving schools in the village.
Assuring full support, he said the Suro Pümji stands with the Students’ Union in all efforts that benefit education and the welfare of the people.
