The closing ceremony was graced by Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) S. Supongmeren Jamir as the special guest. In his address, Jamir said the Longsa Sporting Association has played a key role in fostering unity among villagers and strengthening mutual relationships by inviting teams from neighbouring villages and across the state. He noted that such tournaments provide opportunities for villagers to learn from visiting players and teams.
Jamir also called upon the association to revive and give equal importance to other sporting events such as football, basketball and badminton tournaments which the LSA has been organising stating that balanced promotion of different sports is crucial to provide platforms for individuals with diverse talents to grow and progress to national and international levels. Congratulating both finalists, he said the skill and performance displayed by the players were appreciated by the spectators.

Recalling late T. Imtimeren Jamir, Jamir described him as a “political architect” at the state level who took pride in identifying all villagers as Longsa citizens without distinction and worked for the welfare of the people. He urged the villagers to uphold his legacy. Jamir also acknowledged the Longsa Village Council, Jubilee Board Committee, organising committee and the Longsa Sporting Association for the successful conduct of the tournament.
The Longsa Sporting Association (LSA), in addition to hosting the Imtimeren Memorial Open Volleyball Tournament, has over the years been organising other sporting events such as the Takomeren Memorial Football Tournament, the Alemar Memorial Badminton Tournament and the Imlisungkem Basketball Tournament, though the basketball event has been discontinued.
